You don't take a Photograph, you make it....Ansel Adams

Photography for me is a more than a photograph, for me is a way to show people what I see and how I see it.
But a photograph can be many things to many people. It could be a sentimental family heirloom to one, it could be a special moment in time to another or even a crucial piece of evidence to someone else. To a Business it could be the difference between a profit and a loss, to a Doctor it could be an X-ray that stops a life being lost. Photography is all around us in the modern world and used in many different ways to show many different things, but for me as an individual photography is all of the above and more.
It's a pleasure, a challenge, an art, an addiction but most of all its something which I love to do.
The photograph above was taken in a disused Railway station, although in times gone by the station would of been a hive of activity it is now a very dingy, unwelcoming place. The only people it see's these days are drug addicts and alcoholics.
I tried to show how desperate and unwelcoming it is now when I took this photograph, and in my opinion the solitary sombre figure and the dereliction really do show what a lonely dark dingy place it has become in contrast to its former glory.
